About Postpartum Doulas
Pregnant and postpartum women are often in a delicate state, both physically and emotionally.
A postpartum doula is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to mothers during pregnancy and the postpartum period.
The word “doula” comes from Greek and means “a woman who supports other women.
”The main goal of a doula is to help mothers experience the healthiest and most fulfilling postpartum period possible.
About me
Junko Sugihara
I am originally from Aomori, Japan. After graduating from college, I joined a publishing company in Tokyo and worked as an editorial staff member for more than 20 years.
In 2016, I began a new career as a postpartum doula.
I have experience supporting families from various cultural backgrounds living inTokyo.
It is my honor to support mothers during this special and important time in their lives.
Available Areas
Homes within about 20 minutes of Musashikoyama Station(Tokyu Meguro Line) .
Residents of Shinagawa Ward and Meguro Ward may be eligible for a subsidy for doula support.

Price
Planning session (60-90min.) ￥2000
During the planning session, I will listen to your family’s situation and wishes, and will discuss the details of the support you need.
For the most effective support, it is recommended to have this session before birth.
Doula Support (3 hours) ￥10800
The hourly rate is ￥3600 .
Support is generally provided in 3-hour sessions.
If you need shorter or longer support, please feel free to contact me.
Transportation
Actual transportation costs will be charged.
If your home is within biking distance, I will visit by bicycle.
If a paid bicycle parking lot is required, the actual cost will be charged.
If public transportation is used, you will be responsible for the round-trip fare from Musashikoyama Station to the nearest station of your home.
Cancellation Policy
If cancellation is made after 5:00 p.m. on the day before the scheduled support, a cancellation fee of ¥3,600 will be charged.
